Wow! One of the "Real Housewives" wasn't a geo-nitwit! I couldn't tell who made the Lake Ontario observation, but it was a good one. If only she had a little confidence in selling that answer!

TDC really hurts the effectiveness of team game play. If someone can't sell an answer, immediately, there's no time for discussion. And with three people on each team, today, that problem was even worse!

Dawn's appearance became another victim of the big "IT'S SNOWING" news emergency in NYC.

http://www.nj.com/hobokennow/index.ssf/ ... hobok.html
In an unusual situation, WABC-TV programming director Art Moore said there are no plans to re-air this episode and that it will likely air when the season is rerun at an undetermined later date.

“There’s just no place to put it,” Moore said.
Unusual situation? Tell that to Pea...
Although the people of Hoboken were deprived of a viewing, Pascale planned ahead. She noticed that Thursday’s episode had been pre-empted, and she traveled to her shore house at Toms River so she wouldn’t miss herself on Friday’s program. She watched it with family and friends today.

I surely can't be the only one who thinks it makes more sense to use your Housewives-centric lifeline on the Housewives-centric question, right?

1791 was the key for me. Ohio and Florida didn't join the Union until the 1800s. And AFAIK, Maine was still a part of Massachusetts so there was no way it could have been an independent republic.

I want to add to my previous comment about TDC interfering with effective team discussion. In this instance, they used the ATE as a Stop The Clock lifeline, so there was time for all four of those individuals to have a detailed analysis of all the hunches, in an attempt to arrive at a definitive conclusion. Now, maybe they tried that and it all got edited out; I think the editing was pretty heavy on this episode, to fit in all of Dawn's run.

So all we were left with, on the tape, was Andy telling Dawn how smart her team was.

You're not.

Maybe the ATA would have made sense if TPTB had specifically promoted this taping as being for "Real Housewives" week, so that everyone in the audience would have been fans of that series. I don't think that was the case, despite the scenes they showed of the RHs arriving outside the studio to the cheers of (some) ecstatic fans.
