Anja Paerson of Sweden was running close to Vonn but crashed after the last timing interval.
That's an edit because I was misreading the splits.
Medals are the same with 24 to go.

Where are you getting your real time results? I found most of what you reported on ESPN online, but their results on the downhill haven't been updated in a while.

I think they need to add an Uphill competition.

All the major contenders have gone and it looks like U.S. will finish 1-2 with Vonn and Mancuso. Expect to see a good bit of this footgage tonight with some spectacular crashes along with the solid American finish.
And while all this was going on, I had a chance to learn about the intricacies of curling.

I like curling but would rather see the finals of almost any event instead of a preliminary curling match.

The only event more boring than curling was Olympic paint drying, last held in 1932.

They need to add downhill curling to the events. That would not be boring!

Watch Equestrian Dressage in the Summer Olympics. It brings boredom to incredible new heights. Well, on NBC it wouldn't be boring because they would only show you 30 seconds but in reality it is hour after hour of one horse and rider after another doing a flat (no jumps) course in exactly the same pattern over and over and over and over and over......

Wow, for someone skiing with a badly bruised shin, that's a heckuva big lead. And the gap to third is even bigger.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Race is delayed while they airlift an injured skier from the course. Apparently NBC and ESPN are already reporting that the medals have been won. Not exactly accurate until the last 9 skiers race. None of them has much of a chance but media should not report medals won.

Ssshhh...
If NBC hears you they might televise dressage instead of the 100 meter finals at the next summer Olympics.

Did Sherwin-Williams win that? Or was it a Dutch boy?

They need to add downhill curling to the events. That would not be boring!
I think uphill curling would be even less boring. The comedic factor would be greater than the excitement of the speed of downhill curling.
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!
That'll be $10, please.

I don't know much about ice, but I think that uphill curling would include a downhill component, as well...
