PMing someone
after something started publically.
What's the opinion about that?
I have had people tell me I should have taken it off board, I have had people tell me that they should have (like a backward apology).
My opinion is that if it started publically and escalated publically, that's the place to finish it.
But.... I'm a bossy New Yorker.
and a beyotch.

Do what you feel right. I have no idea what this is all about, and don't need to, but I trust your instincts.peacock2121 wrote:after something started publically.

I think it's always up to the people most directly involved. If I see others having a tiff, however, I'm always relieved later if I see they've called a truce.peacock2121 wrote:after something started publically.

I think she's talking about her acknowlegement of looking in certain direction and then reporting IN PUBLIC what she observed (or didn't).

You may want to stop thinking, it's not working out too well for you.wbtravis007 wrote:earendel wrote:peacock2121 wrote:after something started publically.

If I ass up in public and want to apologize, I do it in public. Anything else that develops from a public conversation, I sometimes continue it in private if I think I'm sparing other folks something that makes them uncomfortable or if it's none of their business.peacock2121 wrote:after something started publically.

So, yeah, trust your instinct.
Your instinct is to leave most stuff in public, which is fine. If people don't want to read your thread, they don't have to. There are three or four people I don't click on threads they have started, and surely there are some folks who do the same for mine. It is also easy enough to skip over posts within threads, ignoring the folks whose opinion does not enrich you.

not too sure what caused the public part of it ( and as I am a nosy beyotch, I paged back several pages of your posts LOL), I don't know.
If the original kerfluffle was posted, then dealt with privately, but the original kerfluffle upset people on the board, then advising that it was dealt with should probably be posted.

Would that be enough, or would people need to know how things were resolved and therefore bring the whole mess (whatever the mess was) public again?
I think knowing there is resolution is good enough. Those that aren't happy with that can "bite you!"

Maybe it's more than a healthy dose of curiosity, but I like to see a resolution to things that I'm exposed to. I'm not saying I want to see blood, guts and bodies, but I find it interesting to see how the kerfluffles on the bored get resolved. If you don't want me to know then don't intimate there is something, because if you do, I do!silvercamaro wrote:I agree with Kay.
