Lost thread

Spoiler
Since the Lost writers have established the principle that time travel can't change anything that happened, I presume that young Ben hasn't really been mortally wounded? Or will the Island do its magical healing trick on him?

When Ben was first captured and tortured by the Oceanic survivors, did we ever see an old gunshot scar on his chest?

Spoiler
I wouldn't expect the wound. The Executive Producers admitted that Ben was supposed to be a 4-episode character, not the uber-leader of the Others. It was only when the character was so well received that they decided to adjust the arc.

Obviously, Ben will heal from what should have been a fatal wound. The more interesting question is why didn't Ben recognize Jack, Kate, Jin, Sawyer, and especially Hurley & Sayid when they showed up in 2004?

And Juliet?

I suspect you answered your question with your comment. Not sure this current storyline was thought out until well after Ben had met them already. By the time this storyline came along it may have been awkward and inconvenient to bring it up. They can just chalk it up to to his natural deviousness.

Certainly seems probable that the island is not through with Ben and that it will "save" him somehow. It won't be the first time certainly.

BTW, what the heck has happened to Danny boy the last 3 years? When we last saw him he was a bit whack-a-doodle but I certainly don't think we have seen the last of him. Maybe he is getting chummy with "Jacob" since his Mom appeared to be an other anyway....
