RIP Altovise Davis

Widow of Sammy Davis, Jr. She was a Broadway dancer and bit part actress when she met Davis while working on the Broadway production of Golden Boy. When he died, he was deeply in debt to the IRS and she spent a lot of time trying to work out his legal problems.

Age 65.

One thing I learned from reading the obit was that Sammy Davis, Jr., was given an option when diagnosed with throat cancer of either having surgery with a fairly good chance of success (but would have ended his singing career) or getting radiation treatments with a much lower chance of success. He chose radiation because he felt he couldn't survive financially without the money from his continuing career.
