Number puzzles
For those interested in number puzzles, check out the ken ken puzzles on the Web site of the New York Times. Today's 8x8 is quite challenging -- I'm somewhat proud of myself that I managed to solve it. --Bob

Re: Number puzzles
I'm not even gonna try. Sudoku is about as close to a number puzzle as I get, and it's about as far as you can get from a number puzzle and still have numbers in it.

Re: Number puzzles
I did an 8x8. It was yesterday's 8x8 and it took me until today to get it but I did it.
I like these puzzles. Thanks for the link.

Re: Number puzzles
Call me old-school but I have never gotten into sudoku - I'm strictly a crossword puzzle guy. I doubt that ken ken has anything more to offer.

Re: Number puzzles
I guess it depends on what you mean by "more." The logic available to solve a ken ken puzzle is somewhat richer than the logic available to solve a sudoku. But it's clearly a mathematical puzzle, rather than a word puzzle. --Bobold-school wrote:Call me old-school but I have never gotten into sudoku - I'm strictly a crossword puzzle guy. Re: Number puzzles
I don't even do Sudoku any more. I developed a systematic approach to them and I can just grind them out. Barely any logic involved. These Ken Ken require logic.TheCalvinator24 wrote:These are far more challenging that Sudoku.Bob78164 wrote:I guess it depends on what you mean by "more." Completely different than crossword puzzles in my mind. Crossword puzzles require vocabulary and intuitive leaps where you have to figure out what the puzzle writer is asking, IMO, but not much logic.
