Or more correctly, things I learned today:
1. Even tech support guys in India are trained to try to sell you more warranty coverage.
2. I probably should get more warranty coverage for my Dell computer, since the tech support guy in India thinks my newish motherboard (it was replaced a few months ago when I had a bad video chip) is toast. He's sending a non-Indian tech guy to my apartment next week to fix the stupid thing.
3. One should close the barn door BEFORE the horse gets out. But I still only picked up an external hard drive to back up all the stuff on my currently dead Dell today. Of course, I picked it up at Circuit City, so I got it for 40% off.
4. I shouldn't go to PetSmart to get kitty litter and cat food on adoption day. It was SO hard to say "no" to all those gorgeous kitties and puppies who are looking for homes. But at least I gave a donation to the shelter who was holding the adoption-fest, so I don't feel TOO bad (and they're no-kill, so eventually these cuties will find homes).
5. It's nice to have a backup computer, even if the video on it is shaky (it likes to flicker on and off occasionally) and it's as slow as molassas.

Things I think I think today
There is something wrong in a government where they who do the most have the least. There is something wrong when honesty wears a rag, and rascality a robe; when the loving, the tender, eat a crust while the infamous sit at banquets.

Much as I'd have loved to, I couldn't do that to Sybil. She'd have freaked.

Sybil wouldn't freak...cats are usually more welcoming to new members of the family than dogs.
They'd be best friends in no time.
Sorry about your computer. Is it still under warranty?

I dunno about KT, but there's no doubt in my mind that Sybil would have very easily said "NO!" and "HELL NO!" and "SCREECH!" and "HOWL!" and pout and vanish into whatever hidey-hole she's staked out in her comfy little home for as long as she thinks it takes for KT to worry about her and banish the horrible intruders into cyberspace or back wherever they came from, she doesn't care. Or she might come out when she's hungry before that.NellyLunatic1980 wrote:How on Earth could you (or Sybil) say "no" to this?KillerTomato wrote:christie1111 wrote:So tech rant aside....

The friends we had dinner with last night have a four-kitty home -- HeCAT-e, Chaska, Orion, and Kenosha, and things are different there. They would act as Kay describes because they're used to having new members introduced into the household on a whim.
