We're back home.

#1 Post by mrkelley23 » Mon Feb 02, 2009 7:56 am

Finally.

After losing power just after midnight on Wednesday morning, we got it back about 6:45 pm last night.

We're so thankful to be back home.

Wish I was in the fuel-powered generator business right now -- they're flying off the shelves.

Welcome home!

I hope the boys can look at this past week as an adventure, even if you can't.

Glad to hear you're back in your own digs, Mike. Wish I could say the same.

My sister got power yesterday. Still none at my mom's house, but no one is there so as long as the
pipes don't freeze we're OK. The driveway was completely blocked with huge tree limbs. I'm hoping
someone will be able to clear that today.

I won't be going to back to her house after the funeral anyway. We're so thankful for our hotel rooms.
Allen, Natalie, Russell and my oldest granddaughter will fly back to Alabama tonight and Missy, her
husband and I will drive back home tomorrow.

I never thought I would be here during one of the worst disasters to hit Kentucky ever, for over a week. It will be
good to see my own home again.

Well, my parents never dreamed their anniversary trip to the Gulf of Mexico would coincide with Katrina either.....

There luck must be as good as mine. School is canceled here again today. They are saying
some areas may be 7-8 more days before power is restored.
