From the start, they always struck me as a more spiritual enterprise than, say, the Kowpokes...especially in the age of that team's current owner...

Beedums has told me that when Myron first started with the towels, he told everyone watching the game to put the towel on their TV. They won that game.

Absolutely true! Back when it started, and there was no "official" Terrible Towel, I had a homemade one. I took a gold hand towel and appliqued Steelers Terrible Towel on it in black letters. It was more of an antique gold than the yellowy Steelers gold, but it worked! Don't know what happened to it.
