'Twas a busy weekend in Rivendell - elwing had the urge to do some housecleaning and so we spent most of Saturday rearranging things and putting things away. Sunday was no better, although the activities were all church-related.
Today is pretty calm around here - FWIW the bus driver on my route and the security guard at the entrance to the Federal building were substitues (the regulars are African-American and the replacements were white). For those who are at work there will be TV sets going in various conference rooms so that those who want to drop in for part of the inauguration will be able to do so.

I usually go out to Dover Plains to work with my ESL women. I am going to cancel today to stay home and be part of history.

Boston's principal classical station is carrying the AP camera feeds and coverage on their website. Coverage doesn't really begin until 10:00. But as I type, they are playing their daily clip with a Keith Lockhart interview followed by the Boston Pops: Aaron Copland's "Theme for the Common Man".
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.
