In case anyone is cold, let me warm you up

#1 Post by kusch » Mon Jan 12, 2009 3:17 pm

We are now at 31 days without a high temp for the day of above freezing. :D

22 of those 31 days the low has been a negative #. :(

We are heading for close to 30 below on Wednesday night.

We now have over 50 inches of snow since November. You can actually see 10 foot snow drifts in some places. My snowpiles from shoveling snow at home are all now way over 6 feet. Our bank parking lot piles are close to 15 feet. My age is showing, I remember this kind of snow and piles from the late 50's and early 60's.

Wal-mart, yes Wal-mart actually closed yesterday so they could remove snow from the roof of
their building.

But, but, and a big but, next week's lows look like in the teens with highs maybe hitting 20. :D Just might get to do some sun tanning in my speedos!!!

Kusch by a snow blower you are getting too old to shovel and particularly if you still smoke.

Right now the WeatherBug at the bottom of my screen says 53.

Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Looks like we are getting your weather by Friday.

Low = 2
High = 14

Maybe you will warm up and we will be colder than you.

But only for a day, okay?

I had typed I am glad I am not you.

That was not true.

Yet another reason why no one wants to live in North Dakota.

No. I would rather be me than kusch.

I am not glad I am not him.

My Apple Dashboard says 85. I don't think it will last after today. But I'm not expecting 10 ft. snowdrifts either.

kusch- when it's 95 degrees and the heat index is 105 in the middle of July you can rub my nose in it.

We really do, a lot.

No one? There are about 600,000 of us. :D

Our state legislature is now in session (every two years) and the state has a 1 billion dollar budget surplus.
It will be fun to watch what projects are going to get funded. One of the state representatives wants the state to build a new governor mansion with a cost of 3 million. The current one was built in the early 1950s. Our governor said no, it is not needed.

Au contraire, mon gameshow frere. Weather Underground for Studio City predicts temperatures tomorrow will be the same as today's. Which is good, because I played tennis in shirtsleeves and shorts at 9 this morning in the Sepulveda Pass and had a good sweat going, and I plan on doing it again tomorrow! 8)

I would never rub anyone's nose in anything. I would just wonder why someone would live there. :lol:

The governor is smart. They just don't make things like they used to. My current house was built in 1999 and it's a POS compared to my previous 1941 bungalow.

Now I know where the cold weather that's coming MY way came from.

We're under a winter storm warning from 10pm tonight to 7pm tomorrow-and then the Arctic air comes in. The weatherman was using words like "blowing snow" "blizzard conditions", "bitterly cold windchills" "negative single digits" and other yucky terms.
I'm just a game show nerd.
