#1 Post by kayrharris » Thu Dec 25, 2008 5:38 pm

the movie...that is. They've all gone to see it! Peace at last and maybe a nap!
I was up until 1:30AM and up this morning at 6:45.

Yes, how did they like the movie?

I've been looking for which release got #1, but I guess that doesn't come out until after the weekend.

The females all liked the movie, but every single one of them cried their freaking eyes out!
Payton (she's 17) came in announcing she felt like she'd been to a funeral! The guys all thought they dragged out the
inevitable a bit too long. My brother in law's girlfriend had a yellow lab much like Marley that she lost not long
ago, and he said Laurie cried all the way home (90 miles!) and used a half box of kleenex. So I guess it depends
on your tendency to cry in movies as to whether you will like it or not.

I read the book, so I knew better than to see the movie. Last movie I saw was "We are Marshall"...omg, we
all cried like babies watching that one too!

Maybe I'll wait until it comes out on video and watch just the first three quarters of it.

I will not watch Old Yeller ever again.

Marley and Me was #1 on the first day of its release, according to a story I saw last night.

The Tom Cruise-as-a-Nazi movie dropped to #4.

OK, that works.

Thanks, SC!

We saw Marley & Me on Christmas Day.

Yeah, I teared up a bit. We were expecting a light hearted uplifting movie. Valkyrie would have been more uplifting. Seeing Nazis killed is always uplifting. I couldn't convince my wife of that though.

I'll give Marley & Me 4 out of 5 stars. It was good. Aniston has never been better (acting or looking). She was actually very good. As was Wilson.

The movie definitely has a tear-jerker ending.

And not just because people would name their dog after my cousin Bob, without ever thinking of naming one after me. :P
