I do not know why. I signed up for watching videos on hulu.com, a legal repository for tv shows that the owners don't think will sell on discs, I guess, so that I could see the episodes of ReGenesis that the local TV station didn't choose to air. For a long time, that was one episode from year 2 I had missed taping because the local schedule didn't list it at the time, & the show was at a different stage in reruns.
Recently I signed on "just to check" & found all of year #3 on there. Which I would have bought, along with year #4, if they'd been available on disc for region #1. Nope, only used versions for region #3 or whatever. Europe. In French. The show is Canadian, filmed in English, & last time I checked Canada was region #1.
So I've been watching as many episodes as I can per night before I stumble home, but that's been cut back lately because of the bad weather here. And with my car now safely parked 'til after New Years, I have to walk home, so can't stay really late.
I've only got today & tomorrow to watch the last 4 episodes (there are 13/year) available, as I'll be in Ohio until after New Years, & my sister doesn't want to load up her computer with those special downloads you now need to see net video. She will eventually download whatever hulu.com needs, though, because she likes this show too, but I can't push her.
So I log on today to IE, which I've been doing right along, as Firefox's connection to hulu.com kept prompting me for a password I wasn't sure I remembered, & it was a heck of a time getting set up the 1st time. For both browsers, I had set up the accounts using my real age (you have to fill "age" in with something) but did not use the real month & day. Just the right year.
So today, after visiting the site regularly, including last night, IE tells me "you can't watch ReGenesis; its restricted to age 17 & up". Bear in mind that this was show on broadcast TV, probably prime time in Canada & in the US late-night. But also bear in mind that I'd told IE I was 57 years old, which I am, but it now tells me back I am under 17.
Fortunately, I got through the password thingie on Firefox with no problem, & am now watching away.
