ROLL CALL!

#1 Post by littlebeast13 » Tue Dec 16, 2008 8:23 pm

It is ironic that I planned on posting this Monday morning, as given the Bored's 48 hour absence, it will now take on a bit of a new meaning......

Anyway, this is the third annual Bored Roll Call, blatantly ripped off from a similar thread in the GC 2 years ago. The point is simple.... whether you post all the time, hardly ever, or somewhere in between, please feel free to add a post to this thread whether it be to just say hello, give holiday wishes, say something special, or nothing really at all. And especially if you haven't made a post in a while, we'd love to see a post from you in this thread to know you're still alive....

I was going to make my post a tribute to just how great a year this has been for the Bored.... well, despite the recent outage. We seem to have settled in quite well over here at our new home, and we have managed to pick up probably our largest batch of new posters since the final year of the old ABC Bored in 2001. After several straight years in the TUB when it seemed Ace's Prophesy was coming closer and closer to becoming reality, I think this year has done a lot towards preserving the long-term health of our little Bored community.....

With no active games at the moment, I will keep this thread stickied until after New Year's....

Glad to be back here.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I am still here, and still Taping My Watch.

I had posted a little blurb over in Phoenix in case anyone had drifted over there to see what was happening.

I am glad tubaman's server got back on its feet.

I'm glad to be here. Matty came a lot closer to winning the million on Survivor than I ever thought possible.

What's the rerun schedule for Millionaire?

Glad the Bored is (are?) back!

I haven't been able to get on from work anyway, so haven't been missing it much. The whole office shares just a T1 line so no personal use is acceptable. I bought an "air card" last night but it doesn't work - even in the parking lot.

We're getting melting sleet that's supposed to turn into freezing rain shortly. :( My friend Julie in the Oakland, California hills has more snow than I have!

I'm sort of glad I haven't missed much.

Um, I don't really have to answer roll call, do I? I mean, everyone already knows I'm here, right?

I'll be the man behind the curtain, quietly smoothing out the wrinkles in the Bored.

Oh yeah. That was worth it.

I'd walk a lot longer than a mile . . .

Actually I'd run the other way, but details, details . . .
