Jerry Lewis to Receive Special Honor at Oscars
Entertainment Tonight has the details...
Legendary entertainer and philanthropist Jerry Lewis will be honored with a special Oscar statuette at the 81st Academy Awards, ET has learned.
During the Sunday, Feb. 22 ceremony airing live on ABC, the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present Lewis with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for his many charitable undertakings over the years.
"Jerry is a legendary comedian who has not only brought laughter to millions around the world," said Academy President Sid Ganis, "but has also helped thousands upon thousands by raising funds and awareness for those suffering from muscular dystrophy."
