Yeah, another chain chain chain of fools. I challenged myself to come up with another once LB said he had trouble doing ONE...just HAD to show him up! AFAIC, Etta James' version of "At Last" is one of those absolutely perfect songs that NEVER EVER should have been done by anyone else since. Too bad some people didn't pay attention....Although I was majorly surprised by TLITF's Joni Mitchell answer; I'm a huge Joni fan, and didn't know she'd done it! The Everly Brothers cover of "Love Is Strange" suprised me too, although I'm kinda disappointed nobody gave me Everything But the Girl for that one (which is a pretty good cover). So, here's the answers I was LOOKING for, but others were accepted.
1. I found a dream that I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill to hold my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known
AT LAST - ETTA JAMES (AND MANY OTHERS)
2. Oh, I need you by me
Beside me, to guide me
To hold me, scold me
'Cause when I'm bad I'm so, so bad
LAST DANCE - DONNA SUMMER
3. When I and my mother would disagree
To get my way, I would run from her to him
He'd make me laugh just to comfort me, yeah yeah
Then finally make me do just what my momma said
DANCE WITH MY FATHER - LUTHER VANDROSS
4. I was once like you are now
And I know that it's not easy
To be calm when you've found something going on
But take your time, think a lot
Why, think of everything you've got
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not
FATHER AND SON - CAT STEVENS
5.How well I remember
The look that was in his eyes
Stealing kisses from me on the sly
Taking time to make time
Telling me that he's all mine
SON OF A PREACHER MAN - DUSTY SPRINGFIELD
6. Mott the Hoople and the game of LIFE (yeah yeah yeah yeah)
Andy Kaufman in the wrestling match (yeah yeah yeah yea)
Monopoly, 21, checkers and chess (yeah yeah yeah yeah)
Mr. Fred Blassie in a breakfast mess (yeah yeah yeah yeah)
MAN ON THE MOON - REM
7.Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end
Waitin' 'round the bend
MOON RIVER - ANDY WILLIAMS (AND MANY OTHERS)
8. Hey, baby, won't you take a little ride with me
Have a look around, see what we can see
I've got the paddle, I've got the boat
Come on, baby, I know she'll float
RIVER OF LOVE - GEORGE STRAIT
9. Many people
Don't understand (no, no)
They think loving (yeah yeah)
Is money in the hand
LOVE IS STRANGE - MICKEY & SYLVIA
10. She's a witch of trouble in electric blue
In her own mad mind she's in love with you
With you
Now what you gonna do?
STRANGE BREW - CREAM
So the chain in full was
At Last Dance With My Father & Son of a Preacher Man in the Moon River of Love is Strange Brew.

LS Day 15 (11/29/08) ANSWERS AND POINTS
There is something wrong in a government where they who do the most have the least. There is something wrong when honesty wears a rag, and rascality a robe; when the loving, the tender, eat a crust while the infamous sit at banquets.

My favourite Love is Strange is Buddy Holly, but I didn't want to make you have to look it up, so I gave the de rigueur answer of M&S.
I don't pay a whole lot of attention to points, but I think you gave me one too many. I have no idea what River of Love is, I just put that because it fit the chain and gave Wham! as the artist because their video was playing on Vh1 when I was answering.
Unless it was a humour point or an extra point for getting the entire chain correct. In which case, sorry and carry on with the good work!

So we ALL have suffer for KT's trangression? That reminds of how my mom used to line us all up against the wall and we'd all get a whipping for whatever one of us did. Then when she found out the one who actually did it, they'd get another one for letting their siblings take the punishment.littlebeast13 wrote:KillerTomato wrote:Yeah, another chain chain chain of fools. Not a whole lot of "I am Spartacus!" action around our digs.
