WCVB, in its infinite wisdom, is preempting prime time shows
to play this game on air. (This would be the local Boston station.)
I hope outraged fans of the Thursday night lineup storm the station with pitchforks, etc.
I plan to go out Thursday night, so if I hadn't caught the warning on another ABC show, I'd have been taping their flipping game. As it is, they are going to air the prime time shows after Jimmy Kimmel. Whenever that is. Some Thursday, some Friday. I mean Friday am, Sat am.
Which preempts whoever comes on after Kimmel, of course.

Ghost, if the game is pre-empting ABC programming tonight, then you are not missing the regular Wednesday lineup, but the CMA Awards.

Someone in Boston complaining that a Pats game is pre-empting their shows is only slightly less amusing than someone in Nebraska complaining that coverage of a Husker game is interrupting the farm report.ghostjmf wrote:to play this game on air. (This would be the local Boston station.)

This is SOP for the cities whose teams are playing in the Thursday night game.
There might be...I don't know...a FEW people in Boston that don't have NFL Network that might...you know...wanna watch the PATRIOTS play?
I'm only guessing but I'd be willing to bet that those...FEW people...might just outnumber...people who would like to see the regular Thursday night primetime lineup.

I just wish they were preempting the regular shows down here and showing us the game. I know for sure everyone in our household would rather watch BenJarvis Green-Ellis than whatever the network would be putting on. I guess we will have to settle for watching the Hokies over on ESPN.

Someone who is able to watch the game should post updates on the Bored for those who are not. I did that last year for a big game between the Cowboys and Packers which was on NFL Network.
And it will give you an excuse to inflate your post total.

Ugh. Turned off the game after the kickoff return TD, turned it back on briefly to see the Pats tie it at 24-all, turned it back off to go to sleep, woke up to hear the final score on the radio.
Prediction: the Pats will be one of the teams who miss the playoffs through tiebreakers, and the kickoff return TD will have been the turning point of the season.
Prediction 2: if the Jets make the playoffs, they will be one and done.

I can't be in the room when my husband is watching sports anymore--he gets so negative! He sat there just waiting for the Jets to blow the lead, which they did, but still. He refuses to enjoy the games while they're on...

I enjoy good plays for either side, but of course focus on my own team. That's why I like college football, since I don't have any dogs in that hunt (my alma mater is Division III, and not known for their football prowess in any case).minimetoo26 wrote:I can't be in the room when my husband is watching sports anymore--he gets so negative! The kickoff return would be a good learning video on both sides - how to block and create the running lane, or how not to bunch up on one side of the field so the lane can be created. And it helps if your returner is hellaciously fast to take advantage.

The good thing is Steve went to Penn, so football isn't an issue. Maybe basketball, but since they don't have a conference tournament, I'm spared that, too.gsabc wrote:I enjoy good plays for either side, but of course focus on my own team. I think the Mets just killed his Sports Buzz the last two years...

If that happens, I'll be broke. My husband would mortgage the KIDS to attend that sucker! With Mini-me and his crew of Knuckleheads. Actually, a couple of them already have hotel reservations in Tampa for then..........Bob Juch wrote:I predict a Jets/Giants Superbowl.gsabc wrote:Ugh.
