It's been a long, contentious, nerve-wracking time over the last couple of months here at our favorite place. Friends got in arguments, bad things were said by lots of people, feelings were no doubt hurt. So I think you all know what's needed:
A BORED GAME!
We just got off of a fantastic month of QoD by Uly and Mr. 'Green (GREAT JOB GUYS!), so I'm thinking we need a change of pace. Something we haven't played in a while.
Something a lot of people may enjoy....and a lot will just get pissed off at the Meister because of.
So, with that in mind, I'd like to announce that, beginning FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2008, I shall run a few weeks of one of my favorite games:
ANNOUNCING THE RETURN OF LYRICALLY SPEAKING!
I'll be changing things up a little from recent versions of LS. There will be some theme days, some semi-obscure songs, and a new feature (kinda like LB's great "Songs on MusicChoice" days) called "I'M A GENIUS!" that's gonna be based on iTunes' new "Genius" feature. I'll be featuring a lot of music from the 70s and 80s (cuz it's what I grew up on), plus to a lesser extent some real old shit (here's a hint: Ella Fitzgerald's Gershwin Songbook album "Oh Lady Be Good" is one of my all-time favorite albums!) and even some hippity hop, some dooity wop, and some bubblegum pop.
I'm going to include some days when you don't have to give me a title/artist combo, but fill in missing lyrics....but I'll be generous on scoring those!
It's going to run daily (including weekends, although I'll leave those open longer), and will be scored pretty loosely. The usual "no cheating" language would go here if I thought it was needed, but you all know that stuff already.
So look for Day 1 on FRIDAY...I'll try to post before going to work every day. I will warn you that I'll be travelling to sunny Las Vegas from 11/15 through 11/19, so I'll be posting those whenever I get to them...I'll warn you when they get closer.
Play nice, everyone!
Okey dokey, it's time for some fun.

There is something wrong in a government where they who do the most have the least. There is something wrong when honesty wears a rag, and rascality a robe; when the loving, the tender, eat a crust while the infamous sit at banquets.

Will you be giving humor points? Or mercy at pathetic attempt points?
Well, then

I'd answer this, but I'm pretending it's tomorrow, and I don't answer questions on Thursdays.Beebs52 wrote:Will you be giving humor points? Or mercy at pathetic attempt points?
You'll just have to wait until Friday to find out.
