Hello peoples.

#1 Post by Bixby17 » Sat Oct 11, 2008 3:58 pm

Sorry, I have been scarce. Looks like nitrah has done more than clean the basement around here.

I have been trying to limit my internet time after having issues with my leg. It still bothers me if I sit too much, but at least I can drive without pain now and I really don't think of it much.

So most of the time that I'm online, I am doing writing stuff. Most of the writing is on sports stuff in general (AOL Sports FanHouse), and then a few of the Houston Chronicle sportswriters were very encouraging for me to restart my Texans-only blog for them at Chron.com. Of course, since I've restarted it, they are 0-4, so I guess I am a jinx.

I'm also doing a Texans-specific radio show for Houston's 1560 The Game with Sean Pendergast and John Harris. Fridays from 3:00-4:00 pm. I do a remote once a week at Nick's Place (a dive sports bar with good food). Sean is also known as Seanie the Cablinasian from the Jim Rome show, and John Harris is mostly known for his college football stuff--really bright guy who went to Brown, had a real job, but got into sports. Really funny, really nice guys.

The kids are doing well. Jackson has a GREAT fit with this year's teacher. He got all E's on his progress report, including on conduct. Even his desk is clean, which means he is doing better than his mommy. Jessica is in kindergarten--very very bright and socially very gifted. She's still doing ballet and loves to dance.

Anyway, it's all good. 8)

Bix, I hope all goes well physically. Mentally, this place could really use some more intelligent discourse. (I have been doing my best to keep conversations on a very low level as befits my standing as a Republican with no one to root for--well, except for our state representative, Don Moffitt, who is the best of the best.)

Great news about the youngins' too.

Weird, I wrote a reply I thought. I guess I don't get the new digs yet.

Good to see you again, Bix!

But I have to confess that, with the B4 Team being inactive lately, I've regained all the weight I had lost at the start of the program.

Can you visit again, from time to time, wearing your pointy boots, coach?

Welcome back Bix.

I do plan on being at the Lions game a week from tomorrow. I'll coordinate with AJ.

Hey Bix,

Good to see you here.

Tell the screener to let Skippy through no matter what.

We could have some fun about who is a wuss and who isn't.

Sorry about the Rosenfels helicopter.

I have no control over the call screening. I like taking calls but because we are at a remote, it is really hard to hear so we haven't been doing calls. Actually, the last time was totally hard to hear because I had defective headphones. Hard to do radio stuff when you can't hear yourself.

Sorry you're feeling poorly but always good to hear from you.

Is your radio show listenable on the web?
I am about 25% sure of this.

No, I'm not feeling poorly. I just have to be careful about the amount of time I sit.

Yes, 1560 has a webcast. http://www.1560thegame.com/
