Interesting thing to watch for, and from a former TMOTTBG question of mine.....peacock2121 wrote:Some big deal about both Chicago teams being int the play-offs or something.
Not since 1906 or something.
There is only one time that a Chicago team has ever clinched a playoff series in their home park..... the White Sox did so while winning the 1906 World Series over the Cubs.
Amazing for a city that's had two baseball teams as long as Chicago has.....

How many cities haven't even supported one team for that long?

St. Louis nearly has the distinction of having lost a team in all 4 of the (classic) major professional sports. We have lost the Browns to Baltimore, the football Cardinals to Phoenix, and the Hawks to Atlanta. If only the Blues would have taken off in the 80's like they had threatened to....peacock2121 wrote:It is.littlebeast13 wrote:Interesting thing to watch for, and from a former TMOTTBG question of mine.....peacock2121 wrote:Some big deal about both Chicago teams being int the play-offs or something.

Jim Thome had the only run, a home run. He is from nearby Bartonville, IL. Just a super nice guy to has helped his old high school and community for many years. He also has a twin sister--yikes!!--who is bigger than he is. But, I bet she is very nice, too.

If you count the Kansas City Scouts who left MO for Denver then became the NJ Devils the state has lost franchises in all four sports.St. Louis nearly has the distinction of having lost a team in all 4 of the (classic) major professional sports. Ah yes the Saskatoon Blues
