Local Yankees fan story

Airport cops move mountains to reunite fan with Yankees ticket

It was 2:30 in the morning, and Nashville airport officer Alan Keene was making a security check of the graveyard-quiet passenger drop-off area when he spotted a red folder on the ground.

Inside? A Nashville woman's travel itinerary, including a ticket to one of the last games that would ever be played at Yankee Stadium. Not just any ticket — the seat was behind and just to the right of home plate.

Game time? Less than 12 hours away.

Keene took it to officer Luke Worley, who moved heaven, earth and the airline industry to get that ticket back to its rightful owner.

...

The story of how Worley got it back to her just before "Play ball!" is a tale of stubborn perseverance, determined finagling and a motive that only a true sports fan can understand.
