I haven't hosted in a while, but offered to because of Jeff's schedule. Jeff's parents and two out of three siblings are coming. I asked my mother to come because I really didn't want to invite her down for Christmas and I wanted to get a visit over with. (I hate Christmas, last years holiday with just the four of us was the best time that we ever had!)Tocqueville3 wrote: Since we are in a much bigger house this year I invited both my parents and inlaws. My parents said they would rather stay home. My mom wanted us to come to them and she's pouting. What-ev-er. My inlaws gladly accepted our invitation. I think that speaks volumes about my parents vs. my inlaws.
She told me that she was too busy doing Operation Santa for the Marines to be able to come.
Recently my Aunt and his girlfriend came down to stay with me. (They bought a 30 Amtrack Pass and had gone back and forth across different train routes.) She told me that the Operation Santa stuff would be long done, so my mother was lying to me. (Which I knew.) She and my Uncle were hoping that my mother would come down here for Thanksgiving, because they wanted to take off and go camping, but felt like they couldn't because she would be alone.
So there you go, one person holds six people hostage with guilt for two holidays.
