oh, good old Jack in the Crack! It gets a bad rap. Love the eclectic variety.
I will try the cheddar potato wedges! ...if you will try the Cheesy Macaroni Bites (little greasy fried triangles- sounds & looks gross, but is secretly delish), and the stuffed jalapenos- sooo good, fried in a kind of crispy cornmeal coating (and each bite
must be dipped in the ranch dressing- or it's just not a complete taste sensation).
Carls Jr.'s chili cheese fries are pretty yum, too.

Have they declared fried chicken a vegetable yet.....?

I hit the KFC last night! Leftover chicken for breakfast today. I had to try the new Original strips out on Mini-me, who loves Original Recipe, but only white meat, and only if there is crust on every bite. So since he had baseball practice last night and I was still doing the Single Mom deal until 7 pm I got takeout, and he loved the strips.
He and Erin are such picky-heads, they are like accidental vegetarians. He eats very little meat, and she eats none. We go through a lot of yogurt and cheese around here...
(And, no--I won't give them beer to boost their veggie intake!

)
Do they like fruits? Our kids like that "new" V-8 drink.

Thank you, lv42day, for making the effort to get to the bottom of this. It's funny that you figured it out in your initial contributions to this message board, when none of us veterans could. I hope you will stick around and continue to add your insights and observations about WWTBAM. Sorry you haven't yet received the warm welcome that most new posters receive. Sometimes the best comments can get buried and lost when people are focused on tangential matters.
So I guess we can surmise that the producers noticed and fixed the error during taping, but didn't go back and edit the graphics on what was already shot.

Nope. I just watched my recording and freeze-framed it, and it says "vegetables", clear as day.
I just played it back on my TiVo and it said Vocabulary each time.
So, Bob, you're saying that on your recording, the first time it is displayed (from 2m 45s to 3m 05s) it says "Vocabulary"? I wonder if it airs early enough in your location to have it noticed and corrected before airing at 6:30 PM PDT in Southern California.
I originally checked the first time only, as the discussions about this feature indicated it was shown only once at the top of the run. I searched for additional displays and found that the second one and all subsequent ones had been corrected to "Vocabulary".

He won't answer.
Maybe he will now to prove me wrong.
Either way I am right.
You gotta love that.

Yes. I guess they sent out some un-fixed tapes?

It appears that some people are trying to play "gotcha" with others. I'm not interested in that. I'm just interested in what actually happened on the show. I seriously doubt that the episode had two different versions of of tapes distributed, only one of which fixed the error. My understanding is that syndicated shows are generally distributed by satellite these days, not on tape. I would be very surprised if there were two different versions distributed and shown in different cities. I think lv42day probably got it right.

FWIW, I just checked my DVR recording of this episode and it matches up with lv42day's.
When they show the category list the first time, it says "vegetables", when they show it again, before the $2k question, it has been changed to "vocabulary". FYI, the list is shown a third time near the $25K, and it also says "vocab."
My airing here in northern CA, is at 6:30 pm, if that matters at all.

Here's the screen at the 2 minute mark. The first time the list was shown.

If others saw "Vegetables", then there were two different tapes.

Bob's photo is of Mary DeLoache from 9/9/08. This whole discussion is about Sally Vander Veer's episode on 9/8/08.

Weren't there two beer-related questions in a row on the 1st episode? I wonder if this is adding to the confusion at all? Probably not...
More importantly, I followed Beebs' recommendation of the Jack In The Box cheesy potato wedges, and they were scrumptious!

Do you still have the recording of the first show, Bob? Maybe we could sort out these categories by looking at that.

I didn't realize my observation would cause so much discussion, lol. But I think it interesting that they switched the category. And thank you for the welcome. I've been reading many of your comments for a while now, and have enjoyed reading most all of them. It was only now that I decided to say something. Take care....
