My first time was on the Motley Fool's message boards. The Bored's progenitor, though, was a not-too-distant second. Even now I think the only other board where I appear with any regularity is the Jeopardy! board. --Bob (who is posting with his BlackBerry for the first time)

For me it was when I was in grad school in Buffalo in the early to mid 1980's, I was on a number of Usenet boards via ARPANET. Its funny that I still remember some of those threads - for a while there was a lot of discussion on both the accuracy and inside jokes of Back to the Future - I remember someone was wondering if the Honeymooners episode that Marty sees and calls a classic, but everyone else was seeing for the first time, really aired on the day it was airing in the movie or not - btw IMDB has the answer. I remember also that the phone system and computer systems in Maddie's office (I think that was Cybil Shepard's character's name) on Moonlighting also was a hot topic especially because (according to the threads), they were constently changing.
I was simultaneously bemused and perplexed that so much time and attention was spent on such minutia. Imagine, seemingly intelligent people wasting so much time obsessing about a TV show - who ever heard of such craziness!
---Jay (If you know how old Crispin Glover is, you will know how many days until my episode is scheduled to air)
