Of course, it will probably happen while I'm having lunch at Chez Birdfeeder with my luck. But I did come close one time....

I think the gal in the blond wig took it.

At least she left you your dickey....
Squirrels are the architects of forests, the planters of trees, nature's own acrobats and show a zest for life that can inspire us. Every day should be National Squirrel Appreciation Day!

Many of these (squirrel) migrations were probably caused by food shortages as well as habitat overcrowding. We solved that for them. We not only reduced their habitat, we reduced the whole species by about 90%. The least we can do now is share a little birdseed with them.

But you don't! Are you so pickled that you can't tell?!?!? Your bottle is very attractive, though.

U.S. District Judge Philip Pro recessed the lengthy trial for a day Wednesday so that the female juror, reportedly an alternate, could attend tryouts for the prime-time network game show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.”

The juror sent the judge a note last week saying she had made plans to attend the tryouts at the Cannery in North Las Vegas before the trial began.
So, did she pass the test? 8)[/quote]

Grr. I had to miss my first audition because of jury duty. Then again, it didn't occur to me to use an audition as an excuse. The judge was pretty mean and I didn't think it would fly, and whether I like it or not, it's an obligation and I tend to be good about that kind of thing.

There's a difference between missing an audition in NYC, which are held all the time, and one in Las Vegas, which is somewhat rarer.

And I'm sure the judge was completely unaware of the cattle call nature of this audition. :P

I don't think it would fly in most places. My first thought when I read the news story was, "Oh, the judge must have wanted to play golf that day."

Not that I'm cynical or anything.

I was called for Jury Duty the Wednesday the day before my Round 2 was scheduled back in 2001. I told the Judge after we were released (he was a friend). he told me that if the case had gone to trial and I had been picked (not likely as an attorney), he would have recessed the trial that Thursday at the lunch break so I could do my round 2 that afternoon.
