Don't hold your breath, not for an apology, and certainly not for 'some' to take their heads out of the sand. I'm not sure there are too many things with a more powerful hold on individuals than the need to be right, even (especially) in the face of mountains of evidence of their being wrong.
The Truth Deniers still haven't come clean on the Steele Dossier and its use as a tool to attack and hamper the Trump Presidency. They haven't come clean about Russia collution. Of course the Truth Deniers are the same folks who call The Inflation Reduction Act by it's name though it does the opposite, the Georgia voting laws Jim Crow 2.0 despite record voting going on in that state, Florida Parental Rights in Education Act the Don't Say Gay Bill that has nothing about the word "gay" in it or limiting what private citizens can say, Dobb's vs Jackson a ban on abortion though it doesn't restrict or ban anything, a man a woman, and Joe Biden competent.
I remember a time when I could say all that was unfathomable. Unfortunately, this Bored provides several prime examples
To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead. -Thomas Paine
You can ignore reality, but you can't ignore the consequences of ignoring reality. -Ayn Rand
Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities. -Voltaire
