One of the biggest surprises was how absolutely crowded Glacier National Park was yesterday-Monday. It makes sense because where Yellowstone diverts people in various directions-at Glacier there really is only the one central axis (Going to the Sun Road).
The 11 YO and 16 YO old boy loved the road. The 13 YO girl, not so much. The boys made up a new song "Roll, Roll, Roll your car gently down the cliff" etc-That didn't help alleviate the poor girl's pure terror.
We had expected to stop at the Logan Pass visitor center at the top and walk some trails and so forth-Look for Mountain Goats etc.
There was absolutely no room to park there with the driving lanes in the parking lot also almost full of cars looking to park. The pullout parking spots about a 1/4 mile either side of the top were also jammed. So we had to skip that. That was probably the biggest disappointment of the trip.
Came through Williston today and saw the smoke from the big fire there(it may have made the news).
Got to check "Drive the Hi-Line" off my bucket list.
I saw another thread referencing farts and all I want to say is after spending a week in a car with an 11 Yo and a 16 YO boy, we kind of have that area covered for a while.

On Old Faithful.
"Our" eruption took place a little early. It appeared to be smaller than others as we observed a larger eruption while we were driving into the parking lot.

I have aspirations of someday staying at the similar type dealie at the Grand Canyon.
