How is that the upset? I thought it was the favorite - everywhere I read picked this one.

And rightly so.

Well, almost. I'd have voted for "Up" myself, but then I'm a rebel.

Good show this year. Very entertaining, for the most part (with all due respects to Sprots, though, the lowlight was without a doubt that interpretive dance number....even lower than putting Zach Efron and Taylor Lautner on stage).

This is the first time I've ever watched the entire ceremony. I'm glad I did.

The win by The Hurt Locker was tipped off early with the screnplay and sound awards. Shortening the whole song category was a good move. The long dance number for the pictures nominated for original score was ridiculous, but at least Up won.

Mo'Nique's speech was little more fiery than one's at other award shows. I guess since this was the last one she could let loose?

Martin & Baldwin did fine and I enjoyed the opening jokes poking fun at the nominees.

Christoph Waltz got the only win for Inglorious Basterds, but QT will be back again another year. He makes good movies.

For a while, Avatar was the BP favorite.

What the hell was up with Mo'Nique?

"The academy made it about the performance, not the politics"?!?!?!?!?

Give me a friggin' break.

The color barrier's already been broken...no need for the bitter defiant act anymore.

And I actually saw Precious and loved her performance. But her speech turned me off big time.

She wasn't talking about that at all, she's been criticized for refusing to campaign for the Oscar because her performance had already been given and that's what it should be about. She was called naive and foolish for believing that the Oscar wasn't about politics (probably by those who get money for the 'for your consideration' ad spaces and those who like having their ass kissed) and was told that those who win are those who play along with the political process.

Everything a person of colour says doesn't always have to do with colour......

OK- since she followed it up with a reference to Hattie McDaniel, shame on me for making an incorrect connection.

I wasn't aware of the other stuff- I can agree with her on that.

I was trying to be a good sport, and wait for someone else to mention the results of the Bored Pool before graciously and humbly accepting the title for 2010's Oscar Pool Champ....

But yinz guys decided to for once to shut up about a contest. What up with that???

So yinz guys can all kiss my Black and Gold BUTT, because I RULE! HAHAHAHAHAHA! I AM JUST SO GOOD! HEHEHEHEHEHE! I AM NOT AFRAID TO TOOT MY OWN HORN, BABY, and YINZ MUST ALL BOW DOWN BEFORE THE OSCAR-PICKING MASTER! AAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Ahem.

Um.

Yeah, civility and humility are more becoming. I'd like to thank the Academy for being semi-predictable this year, and I want to thank my agent, and my publicist, and the guy who services my car, and most especially, I need to thank God for this great honor.

Oh, and as the music starts to drown me out, I'll also thank Nelly for putting the pool together this year. Thanks!

If you really want to impress us, I suggest you post your picks for the 2011 Oscar Pool. We'll wait. --Bob

Mo'nique is flogging a biopic of Hattie McDaniel. Methinks she is too clever by half.
