Starplane:

1. If only you believe like I believe, baby, like I believe,
_____ ______ ______
Miracles - "We'd get by"

2. Like a cat and a mouse (cat and a mouse)
From door to door and-a house to house
Don't you pretend you don't know
What I'm talking about
Jane

3. Tears are running down and down and down your breast
And your friends, baby they treat you like a guest
Somebody To Love

4. I sure ain't got no home
I seem to find love where I ramble
And when it's time to go
I hear that voice again, saying
Find Your Way Back

5. Precious love
I'll give it to you
Blue as the sky and deep in the
Eyes of a love so true
Count on Me

6. Let 'em say we're crazy, I don't care about that
Put your hand in my hand, baby, don't ever look back
Let the world around us just fall apart
Baby, we can make it ____ _____ _____ _____ ______
Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now - "if we're heart to heart" (Gotta love "Mannequin"!)

7. No intentions
Whatsoever
I was gone for a night
Nothing's forever
No Way Out (The video for this one is great, but VH1C doesn't like to air it very much...)

8. One pill makes you larger, and one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you, don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice, _____ _____ _____ _____ _____
White Rabbit - "when she's 10 feet tall"

9. Should I know your name
Did we meet some time ago
I feel uncertain
Shadows whisper to me now
Sudden wind begins to blow
Stranger

10. Someone's always playing corporation games
Who cares they're always changing corporation names
We just want to dance here, someone stole the stage
They call us irresponsible, ____ _____ _____ _____ _____
We Built This City - "write us off the page" (OK, The 80's were obviously my first introduction to Starship, so excuse me for really loving this song, and the rest of their "crap" from the 80's....)

Billy Joel:

11. Some love is just a lie of the soul
A constant battle for the ultimate state of control
After you've heard lie upon lie
There can hardly be a question of why
A Matter of Trust (Why couldn't they cast the old lady screaming at Mr. Joel to shut up as TLITF?)

12. You went uptown riding in your limousine
In your fine Park Avenue clothes
You had the Dom Perignon in your hand
And the _____ _____ _____ _____
Big Shot - "spoon up your nose"

13. I can always find someone
to say they sympathize.
If I wear my heart out on my sleeve.
Honesty

14. You've heard my latest record spin on the radio
It took me years to write it, they were the best years of my life
It was a beautiful song but it ran too long
If you're gonna have a hit you gotta make it fit
So they ____ _____ _____ _____ _____
The Entertainer - "cut it down to 3:05" (One of my favorite parodies I wrote as Wierd Al was to this song called "The Big Producer"....)

15. Some people live with the fear of a touch
And the anger of having been a fool
They will not listen to anyone
So nobody tells them a lie
An Innocent Man

16. Time goes by and you're sharing an apartment
She says she loves you but she doesn't know why
In the morning she leaves you with your coffee and your paper
It's a strange situation for an old fashioned guy
Modern Woman (A lost BJ classic that I absolutely love!)

17. Out in ______ they're killing time
Filling out forms
Standing in line
Allentown - "Bethlehem" (Also was inspired to Wierd Al this one thanks to one of our favorite drive-by posters of the past Allentown7721... aka, The Angry MAWG)

18. Just like a boxer in a title fight
You got to walk in that ring all alone
You're not the only one who's made mistakes
But they're the only thing that you can truly call your own
You're Only Human (Second Wind)

19. Call me a joker, call me a fool
Right at this moment I'm totally cool
Clear as a crystal, sharp as a knife
I feel like I'm in the prime of my life
I Go To Extremes

20. Listen boy
It's not automatically a certain guarantee
To insure yourself
You've got to provide _____ ______
Tell Her About It - "communication constantly"

Bonus (2 points): The music video for the song in #20 starts off by stating that it took place on July 31, 1963. Why is that not possible? - The video featured Billy Joel singing this song on the Ed Sullivan Show, which was taped and aired on Sundays, but 7/31/63 was a Wednesday (Really, how hard would it have been for whoever put this video together to check that out? That's just plain laziness. I can forgive Back To The Future for trying to tell us there was a Year 0, but at least they took the time to ensure that November 5th and 12th 1955 were both Saturdays....)

JJC Points:

I gave mntetn a JJC point, and I can't remember why! Seriously, I have no clue why I wrote down a JJC point for him, but I'm not gonna take it away just because I managed to confuse myself....

Fanny got a JJC point for trying to riff off of the past confusion over The Longest Time and Keeping The Faith for the theme...

TLITF got 3 JJC points, and ironically it came mostly for his cutting down of Starplane and not Billy Joel....

Elwood got a JJC point for his added lyric to We Built This City...

TBone got his usual JJC point, though more for his thorough analysis of Starplane's different singers...

Clem got 2 JJC points, down a bit from his usualy fare, but he griped at me for not including a song I had never heard of before. He may have finally succeeded in pissing me off....

DaveSenior got a JJC point for the extra tidbit about Gagarin. Another anachronism in a cute, but poorly thought out music video....
