I already sent you an autograph along with the Cardinals program. Or did you want a Mayte Garcia lipstick kiss on it as well?
We, the HK Brigade, do hereby salute you, Marley, for your steadfast devotion to ontopicosity. Well done, sir!

Nice game.

No flowers bloom
No wedding Saturday within the month of June
I Just Called To Say I Love You - Stevie Wonder

9. Everyone's looking to see if it was you
Everyone wants you to come through
Everyone's hoping it'll all work out
Everyone's waiting they're holding out
Working for the Weekend - Loverboy

10. If you decide someday to stop this little game that you are playin',
I'm gonna tell you all what my heart's been a-dyin' to be sayin'
Spooky - Classics IV or Atlanta Rhthym Section (And yeah, apparently some guy named Daniel Ash)

11. Maximum big surprise your smile is something new
I pull my shirt off and pray,
We're sacred and bound to suffer the heat wave
Election Day - Arcadia (At least there were no Duran Duran answers this time.... in large part because almost everyone missed this one!)

12. Jeremiah was a bullfrog
Was a good friend of mine
Joy To the World - Three Dog Night (More on this one below)

Theme? - Holidays in each month of the year (You had to show you that you recognized in some way that the theme was not only holidays, but also that there was something for each month to get the three points. And yes, there is literally nothing going on in the month of August, thus the fitting Stevie Wonder song that mentions it isn't any special occasion at all)

J.J. Cale Points:

I managed to reign in the JJC points in this game. In fact, less than half of the 28 players of today's game was awarded any. The notables....

Estonut got a JJC point for calling me a clever bastard.

Melo got a JJC point for listing Gilbert Gottfried as an artist. God help us all!

Mini got a JJC point for Super Bowl XXXXXXXLLLLLLLIIIIIII, and did not get one for her Duh moment since Estonut discovered it first... :P

TLITF got 2 JJC's for the Marv Albert answer. YEESSSS!

Silvercamaro, Fanny, ghost, Dave Senior, AND Estonut (Sheesh!) each got a JJC for listing Hoyt Axton on Joy to the World. Hoyt Axton is another "WTH is that guy?" for me, and must have been JJ Cale's songwriting partner.....

1000aire got a JJC for Monthly Visitor. Having grown up with 5 females in the house, I can appreciate a good period joke...

Clem gets 2 JJC points, one for Edvard Munch, and one for the rest of his cumulative humor point effort. I could have given him a third point for his blatant begging for points act, but I was being really stingy today....

TBone got a JJC for finding a special occasion to celebrate in August, even if it is just his birthday

KT got a JJC for reminding us all that the holidays are the perfect time for mass public slayings. It warmed the cockles of Billy Wayne's heart.....

Dude! We have to have a serious talk here. I know we joke about the JJ, but I can understand people not knowing who he is (unless you're from Oklahoma, then it should be a law), but Hoyt Axton????

As a songwriter, Hoyt Axton makes JJ Cale look like Beyonce Knowles! If there's a song that Willie Nelson didn't write, Hoyt Axton wrote it. Any scraps left over were penned by JJ.

We have had Axton discussions on this board before. I remember a couple of them with Devil Kitty, who I believe is also an Axtonite.

Of course, Hoyt Axton was an across the board stumper in an LS game of mine. Not once, but twice. So maybe you're just all of bunch of hopeless Philistines.
We, the HK Brigade, do hereby salute you, Marley, for your steadfast devotion to ontopicosity. Well done, sir!

Umm...excuse me, lb...

Can I have one of those JJC points for the same mention?? :D Please?
Ignorance is a curable, temporary condition. Stupidity is permanent, and often terminal.

Sorry. Since you responded first, and you actually included Three Dog Night, I wound up skimming right over Hoyt (Just like I missed TiV being the first to invoke JJ Cale last year on Cocaine because he mentioned Clapton first, THEN Fanny answered with only Cale)

The JJC point will be added...

I already hate Hoyt Axton....

And one bad thing about the spoilers is it's such a pain in the ass to go back and click over them a second time.....
