Okay, now I'm ready to round up a bunch of kids and go back to Vegas to see all this good stuff I missed while I was stuffing money into slot machines.

Mini, may I borrow some of yours? I could take Erin ice scaping, too.

Unfortunately, my trips with the kids in tow have been one or two nights on the way to the Grand Canyon. I can't think of 5 days worth of stuff when the pools are most likely to be closed. Last time I was there Miley Cyrus was at MGM, so there were plenty of little kids around, but just riding the monorail was an adventure because groups of young women there for a bachelorette party were doing a scavenger hunt game, so they were asking guys if they had condoms in their wallets, and the kids (and their parents) looked like they wanted to die. The attractions with admission are usually at least 12 bucks a head, cash only, and my son with the tic disorder would get so much adrenaline pumping he'd get the eye blinks and head jerks after the coasters. The free stuff like the lions are still in the smoky public areas.

It's fun (and cheap) just riding the monorail up and down the Strip and sightseeing, with the caveat that the other passengers may disregard the fact you have kids and stick to their party agenda. The shows are pretty pricy, as are the rides. The museum-type display at the Luxor was a big hit with my kids, and I've always wanted to ride one of those elevators that go sideways as well as up to the top of the pyramid there, but haven't gotten around to it.

The fountains at Bellagio are weather-dependent and shut down during moderate winds. So is the Eiffel Tower, but my sister got queasy just using the guest elevators at Paris, so that was out for us.

The museum-type display at the Luxor was a big hit with my kids, and I've always wanted to ride one of those elevators that go sideways as well as up to the top of the pyramid there, but haven't gotten around to it.

I like staying at the Luxor because of the uniqueness of their pyramid (and their decor looks reasonably authentic, unlike the incredibly tacky "medieval" decor of the Excalibur, next door). Those elevators are disorienting for the first couple seconds, when you feel them start to go sideways as well as up or down, then they're no big deal.

I'll second the vote for Shark Bay; it doesn't compare to a full-sized, modern aquarium, but it can be very relaxing if you want a break from the usual Vegas excitement.

I liked Shark Bay as well. Luxor used to have one of those movie/motion rides (can't think what it is called) where you feel like you are moving as part of a movie but don't know if it is still there. Used to be one at the Hilton for the Star Trek Experience as well but that has closed now. Several roller coasters in town as well, NYNY and Sahara I think being the better ones as I recall. Circus Circus and Stratosphere have one as well. Also an arcade at Sahara with a NASCAR focus as I recall. Not sure if it still exists.

And if you walk past Harrah's in the morning looking like a tourist, some guy out front will invariably hand you a two-fer coupon for Mac King! I try to never pay full price for anything...

Glad you had fun KT. I totally agree with you about Paris. The Baboo and I split our trip up half and half between Caesars and Paris on our last trip. Both were great. Love is our next cirque show to try. We made it to Zumanity for the first time on that most recent trip. It was a little different (besides the skin) than the other cirques we have been to but we enjoyed it. Sorry the gambling wasn't as sweet as last time.
