Be honest. What are you looking for here -- looks or brains? --Bob

This limitation turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I just learned that our building's annual fire drill (which includes a mandatory evacuation) has been scheduled for (you guessed it!) October 29. I would have been unable to commit to being present at the phone throughout the day. --Bob

It looks like because of the picture you can only be eligible twice. Thanks for the good sentiments Bob. Don't worry about me, I'm lucky enough to be on as it is. As for BiT, come on I'm sure you're at least moderately attractive. And if not I can lower it to slightly...

I sent a pm as well. If chosen, I will try to keep the nausea level down.

Clem, you should have a PM in your inbox. As long as I did it correctly...

Clem certainly has a nice group from which to make his choice.
Good luck to the contestant and the PAF!

Thanks a lot everyone! It looks like slam's gonna be the one hopefully saving me from embarrassment (although it may not be possible). But I do thank everyone for their awesome response.

Yes, I'm going to make my first foray into being a PAF and am looking forward to it.

I was initially concerned that being a PAF under the new rules would adversely impact my eligibility to appear on J! (no call yet, but still hoping). I am confident, though, that it doesn't. Don't ask me how I know. Just trust me. And I'm assuming that being a PAF doesn't impact eligibility to appear on WWTBAM. That would be silly.

You should be safe on both counts. I believe the J! eligibility question has been tested repeatedly in the past, and I was an on-air PAF (and on several other PAF lists) before I ever made it to the prime-time ring of fire or the syndicated hot seat.

Thanks, silvercamaro. My only concern was that now that one's photo appears as well as one's voice that it might count as an "appearance on" a game show (language from the online J! rules). But as I said, I have it on excellent authority that J! eligibility still isn't affected.

I agree, I was surprised at how stressful the whole ordeal was and I had the benefit of knowing that since Doitneatly was going to go in early that I had a rough idea of when he would play (early) and that it would only last a short period of time. That and adding in the whole GSN call drove me nuts that I was literally shaking after I hung up from the call that my PAF services were no longer needed - all that tension being released. Much more nerve-wracking then actually being in the Hot Seat.

BTW, the folks at GSN joked that if I ended up getting the PAF call when I was on the air with them that it would be really cool to have the entire GSN act as a PAF - but they were concerned about how TPTB at Millionaire would feel about that.

I don't think any of us would have recommended that simultaneous scheduling of the PAF call with the GSN show, Jay. Better to keep the phone line clear for just the one call.

And TPTB would probably have severe trademark and unauthorized promotion issues, if GSN had become identified in any way with the PAF call. Besides, repeating a question to a room (or network) full of helpers rarely works, due to the time constraints.
