Even before the wallet incident, I took notice of the new series of HSBC ads that posted to train stations and inside the trains:

gsabc: My sister said the same thing you did! I checked my bank card (debit) first as fraud on that card could cause me to bounce my rent and other payments.

Keep checking on all the accounts daily for a couple of weeks. I'd be paranoid about it. If someone took the numbers off the cards, they may not want to use them on their own, but I'll bet something like that has a pretty good street value to someone who will.

Debit card requires a PIN, so that's probably okay. Credit cards are another story. You might even want to call the card companies to let them know what happened and to alert you if they see any unusual activity.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.
