New glasses

#1 Post by gsabc » Fri Jun 13, 2008 7:25 am

Taking some getting used to. I like how they look, but the lenses are much smaller than what I've used for the last umpteen years. With progressives, that makes the area of vision smaller as well. Need to figure out how to adjust my angle of viewing.

Fresh look for my audition. Shorter hair, shorter beard, new glasses. Let's hope the old personality works. That's a bit harder to change on short notice.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

gsabc, let me know if you like them...I am fighting getting progressives! I am doing the best impression of a trombonest! My niece would be proud!

When do you audition again? I will need a reminder so that I may channel all my good vibes your way that day!

Hey, how about them Celtics? WOO HOO!

Hi, fuzzy! My last pair were progressives, and I had no problem at all adjusting, once they got made correctly. Took the optician two shots at it. Different optician this time. Your mileage may vary. GW had a heckuva time getting used to her first pair. It's the smaller lenses and smaller viewing range that's my problem. I think. I kinda wonder if there's a small error in the focus point on one lens. If they don't get it exactly correct on both lenses, that can also cause problems. I'll give 'em a week or so. Lenscrafters gives 30 days for a trial period, and will exchange them if they're not working out. I do like the new style, though.

Audition is this Monday, the 16th, at 5:45 PM Eastern time. send vibes. I'll take all the help I can get.

I actually haven't been into basketball that much this year, although I am impressed with what has happened with the Celtics. They're the only local team whose announcers I cannot stand, either radio or TV. Cedric Maxwell is absolutely unlistenable, and always has been to me. Adds nothing to the description or discussion, has a highly inflated ego, and sounds like he has Kleenex stuck in his mouth. Ick.

I've worn progressives for the last 10 years or so. I've never had any problem with them, even during the adjustment period. In fact, I don't really remember adjusting to them, so I guess it couldn't have been too bad.
