You gotta be in it to win it.

Or you could just be in the stands watching the winners and the losers.

Either is a fine place to be.

You just have to pick one.

I should know in a couple of hours if my supervisor will let me have that week off work. If I can have that week off, then I'm step closer to making the trip. :)

Did everyone considering a road trip notice the change in the audition procedure this season?
All road audition testing will start at 7am and the last session will begin at 11am. Those who pass the audition test(s) will be given a specific time to return in the afternoon from 12:30pm-4pm for their audition interview with a member of the Millionaire staff. To complete the audition process you must participate in the audition interview.
Instead of testing one batch auditioner and then interviewing the passers before moving on to the next batch, they've got this two-step process now. Even if you show up early enough to be in the first group allowed in the door, you'll have to stick around until at least 12:30 to have your interview.

A friend who is going up for the Movie Week audition told me his test was scheduled for the morning (say, 11AM or whenever) and then he will have to return in the PM for the interview. Just like the road auditions, in other words. Or so my friend said.

Well, Atlanta isn't too bad a drive. Maybe it's time to knock the dust off the ole audition tales.

How fun! Are you going to renew your vows with Elvis and everything?

Hmmmm.

You both get in line, set up a little folding table and chairs, set out a bottle of champagne and some hors d'oeuvres...then when one of the producers notices and asks what's going on, you explain that it's your anniversary...

Might work! :)

More NYC audition dates have been posted. Evening auditions on July 1, 2 & 3, and Hallowe'en Week on July 8. (Pack up your chains, Marley.) Still no location for Atlanta.

Hallowe'en Week?
HALLOWEEN WEEK
Do you love everything about October 31st, from the costumes and pumpkins to the spooky movies and endless candy? Does your family go all-out each year, decorating your house, hosting Halloween parties, or trick-or-treating with your kids? Millionaire is looking for contestants who love Halloween and are willing to show off their best costumes while playing for 1 million dollars!

To be considered for Halloween Week you MUST either wear your Halloween costume to the audition or bring a photograph of yourself wearing a recent Halloween costume. Please note: Photographs will not be returned.

Audition for Halloween Week July 8th in NYC

You can also audition for Halloween Week at any of our road auditions. We'll be traveling to Sacramento June 23rd, Las Vegas June 25th and Atlanta June 27th. There's NO sign up for road auditions.
My thoughts:

1. This is another stupid gimmick week.

2. However, it would be really cool if I could appear "in character".

3. Unfortunately, I don't really have a Jacob Marley costume.

Does anyone know a top-notch costume designer who might be able to help out a poor gh0st?

Oh, and...

4. Why do they need a special audition day for this in NYC? Couldn't one come in costume (or bring a photo) during any of the NYC auditions?

For one, they don't want to become "Let's Make A Deal" out on the sidewalk while people are waiting to audition. For another, I believe wearing masks in public is illegal unless it's October 31, you're under four feet tall and you're accompanied by a parent with a flashlight.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

And those people in full costume will be sweating like pigs. Not real conducive to the thought processes.

Kind of a shame, though. We don't do much on Halloween, but I have a wonderful vampire cape that GW made for me. Full length, black silk outside, red inside. Long enough so barring a Monroe-style subway gust of wind over a grate, I could be naked underneath and no one would know. It's my garb of choice at work on Halloween. With the clothing, though. You never know when the FDA might drop in.

Oh, this is the first time I've wanted to audition! I lovelovelove Halloween. I could wear my birthday suit (pictured at left.) I'm sure I could pass the test.

Do you think they would notice that I'm not 18? Would they eliminate me because of my accent when I speak English?

I would be an excellent contestant. I might be the audience's favorite.
