Finished planting yesterday so Mrs Spock and Li'l Spock and his girlfriend went to a BBQ place in lakes country about an hour south.
Small seating area with 3 tables and we were talkingabout our various experiences with BBQ in the south-Carolina and such.
Well,the lady next to us apparently had burning ears when we were talking about the Carolinas and such and she started talking to us.
She is a doctor from North Carolina and they live about 15 miles north of the BBQ shack. She was telling us how much she enjoys this place and the sauce and such.
She said she didn't want to share the secret that as the place closes down for winter she stocks up on a lot pulled pork to tide her over the winter. She figured we would copy the idea and there wouldn't be any left (LOL).
I am not much of a pulled pork guy-I prefer brisket-but with her singing its praises I will have to try pulled pork next time. We also brought a bottle of sauce home.

When I do pulled pork, I use Cattleman's Carolina Tangy Gold sauce.We also brought a bottle of sauce home.

I have been a long-time devotee of Bullseye. Yes, I know it is a mass produced brand, but I really like it, and I fell in love with it in 1987 when Burger King had a Bullseye BBQ, Bacon Cheeseburger promotion. BUT, at noon, I put a little of the new sauce on a bratwurst and-move over Bullseye, we have a new king.
I like to say I met my true love (Bullseye) in 1987-whereas, I met Mrs Spock in the first hour of 1989. That is how much Bullseye has meant to me.-LOL

I have never had Bullseye (shock!) but it sounds like maybe you like the Kansas City-style of sauce. Carolina-style is, as you noticed, completely different in taste. I like it once in a while, but I usually come back to the sweet-and-smoky. If you want to try something somewhat similar to Bullseye only moreso, take a look at Pappy's Smokehouse in Missouri.
