Democrats Flip Trump's Home District in FL

Democrat Emily Gregory won a special election tonight in Donald Trump's home district in Florida (where Mar-a-Lago is located) by a 51-48% margin. The district voted for Trump by 11% in 2024 and had not elected a Democrat since the 1980s. Democrats also flipped a state senate seat in the Tampa area in another special election in a district that had voted for Trump by 7% in 2024.

For those keeping score, this makes 30 state legislative seats that Democrats have won from Republicans in special elections since the 2024 general election versus a total of zero seats that Republicans have won away from Democrats during that time.

And despite his oft-stated concerns about mail voting, Trump voted by mail in this election. So I guess he wasn't all that concerned about possible fraud.

You are constantly accusing me of being blindly for Trump. I know who Trump is, and I know he has faults. But I generally agree with his basic platform positions and he actually does what he says he will do. I know I will not agree with ANY politician 100% of the time. But 70% is a good rate. And I do not see the insanity that you claim in Trump. I see it in YOUR party leaders.

Do you really believe that men can have babies?
Do you really agree that men with possible (probable) emotional illnesses should be allowed in women's bathrooms and locker rooms?

Does it not concern you that your party leaders and representatives are more concerned about the welfare of illegal aliens than American citizens?
Are you not concerned that your party has become the home of the Communist Party in America, and elected an avowed Communist as mayor of NYC?
Do you really think that no progress has been made in race relations since the 1960s?
Do you really believe that it is rational to shut down DHS in protest of ICE, even though ICE is fully funded. Especially when we are involved in a major conflict?
Do you think it was a good thing for Obama to give Iran billions of dollars in cash?

I realize you may not see these examples in the same light as I do, but you do not seem to even give any thought that these examples are in any way controversial. You ignore and demonize anyone who even questions them. SSS, no matter what you say, these are all VALID criticisms.

I ignored most of your nonsense, since you took hyperbole and used it to label most of the so-called positions held by Democrats.

But I'm curious how you got this one. Joe Biden got 81 million votes in 2020. Hillary got 65 million in 2016. (Even if you include 2024, Trump only got 77 million in 2024). So unless you're clinging to you multi, multi-times debunked rigged election theories, there's no way to deny these figures.

Not all of them; probably not most of them, but it's hard to tell since they all wear masks.

I'll agree that Trump has done a lot of what he said he was going to do in his Project 2025 manifesto. That's a reason why I was so upset people ignored that in favor of some naive idea Trump could "fix" things. As for what he's done:

Has he brought down prices?
Has he lowered unemployment?
Is the world safer than it was when he took office?
Did we have armed goons prowling the streets when he took office?

Actually, that's one of the most rational things the Democrats have done. Democrats don't have much leverage to get reforms in ICE, so they need to use what leverage they have. And we weren't in the middle of a major conflict when this started. Trump did that all by himself, knowing (or should have known) what the consequences would have been.

Yup. We know they don't care about the law-abiding citizens of this country. (Trump does) Or the law enforcement community. (Trump does) They have demonstrated that at the State of the Union. So they are ok with making them suffer for their political agenda. And because they hate Trump. And you are good with it.

No, they don't need to use leverage. They could consider doing what's good for the people of this country, instead of what's good for Chuck Schumer. For once.
