There's another fairly new NYT weekly game that started in August called Flashback. Here is a link:

https://www.nytimes.com/spotlight/flashback

I'm not sure to what extent it's behind the paywall. I know that if you're on the Times e-mailing list, you can get the current week's game for free, and they have an archive of past games. The object is to put events in historical order. They start by giving you one event and the date, and as they show you additional events, you have to place them in the right chronological order. So if they start by giving you Man Steps on the Moon - 1969 and the second event is Lincoln Assassinated, you place it before the moon landing. Then if they give you World War II ends, you place that in the middle. The events start out easy to place but get tricky towards the end. They also tie the opening event to current events. This week, the opening event was Sandra Day O'Connor graduates law school (1973).

๐ŸŸฉ๐ŸŸฉโฌœโฌœ๐ŸŸจ

๐ŸŸฉ๐ŸŸฉ๐ŸŸฉ๐ŸŸฉ๐ŸŸฉ

I got this in 3, but I missed a chance at another 2. I thought that my standard Wordle opening had left four possible words, so I used PERKY as my second guess to test three of the unique letters from my four options in order to nail the answer on the next guess. I later found out that SLIER and SLYER, although they are acceptable Wordle guesses, are not included in the official Wordle answer database. But I'm still pleased to get another 3 because I need my 3s to catch up to my 4s.
