Covid symptom question

#1 Post by Beebs52 » Sat Sep 04, 2021 10:28 am

To those of you who've had it:

Did you have a screaming sore throat reminiscent of strep?

I'm gonna get tested tomorrow due to throat, slight annoying cough, not much congestion, no temp. Had it since kids/grands here last weekend. Greg and Kara were tested, she neg, his inconclusive, they and kids presumably just nasty cold, they're all better.
All of us except kiddos (6 and 4)vaccinated. Babes wear masks at school (yes! In Texas!)

I think it may be strep but thought doc office would require covid test first anyway, so since there are 3 sites locally wth.

Just curious.
Well, then

Mine was mostly severe dizziness, fever, and general lassitude. No sore throat for me but I know others who have had it.

It was last October/November so the specifics have tended to be somewhat forgotten,

I don't remember a sore throat. I had a cough and severe loss of appetite (which went with the lassitude I guess) and fatigue.

My appetite seems fine, so...who knows.

One of the most pernicious things about this disease is how many different symptoms people manifest. I never had a cough, but my throat was sore, my head wouldn't stop aching, and I would alternate between chills and extreme heat. Wendy knew I was really sick when I would go days without sitting down at the computer.

I'm glad they're ruling Covid out first. It's probably a different virus or something, but it's best to rule that one out first.

They haven't ruled it out yet, since I go tomorrow. But, eh

Plus, I've had a weird canker sore thing on my tongue for months. Only when chewing. So, unless I got something awful there I'm looking forward to a strep test to get rid of whatever. The sore throat and cough have been only this week. Pissing me off.

Contribution is moot, since the test was negative (YEAH!!!!!!)

But ours - March of 2020, so pre-vax - serious lassitude for both.

Mine with the worst chills I ever had in my life (I slept 23 hours at one point, including 14 straight). And the cough that would not quit.

Boonie - his was body aches. No cough (or not much) but a sore throat.

My screaming throat has lessened, not strep, bad cough etc Got antibiotics for secondary sinus, chest stuff so yay again. I knew that was happening.

Isn't it odd how 2 close peeps have entirely diff reactions like you and Boonie

My cousin and her husband were just like us - one big joint reaction (for them it was the constant cough) and then completely different symptoms for everything

I know married couples who were identical.

The randomness is astounding.
