Jamboree 2021 Rules!
-- Jamboree is a celebration of some of the most popular Bored challenges, plus two new ones. A different challenge (unit) will be posted every week day on a rotating basis for approximately FIVE weeks starting May 10, 2021. These challenges are
Historical - a new history-themed challenge
Matinee - a new movie-themed challenge
TEN!
Dead or Alive?
Timeline
Bandstand
Take Me Out to the Ballgame
Wheelhouse
BookWorms
Decades!
Tooned In
PrimeTime
-- Each challenge will occur at least twice, with Historical and Matinee occuring more often because they are new.
-- Everyone is encouraged to play. Yes, even you. And you. And, well, okay, you too.
-- Each unit will typically be posted early (0700-0730) Eastern time on weekdays and remain open until the results are posted, usually the next morning before noon. Some units may be posted the night before. All Friday units remain open through the weekend.
-- If you miss a day, it's okay to go back and play and I'll count it. Really, it's okay to be late to the party as long as you show up.
-- Please use a spoiler for all answers.
-- No outside sources allowed, this includes previous posts on the board. Don't cheat, it's not becoming.
-- There is no penalty for wrong answers, so guess away!
-- Humorous posts and retorts are encouraged for the good of the Bored, but I don't give out humor points. I have a hard enough time just getting the regular scores somewhat correct!
-- Please check your scores and bring any scoring errors to my attention. I've found that internet information can sometimes be wrong (gasp!) or misleading.
-- I try my best to avoid ambiguous wording in the questions. If it happens, please bring it directly to my attention.
-- No political posts allowed. Nevuh evuh.
-- Have fun!

Believe me, I considered it. Two reasons it didn't happen:
1) Too many mans and too few wimmens. I couldn't think of a way to make it competitive and still keep the spirit of the game with such a disparity. Plus, it's meant to be interactive. Plus Pat Summerall retired. Or died.
2) Ms. Peahen took all the butt cream with her when she left the Bored. Without butt cream, why bother?
That was four reasons, but it only looks like two with the fancy pants numbering scheme.
Similarly, Question of the Day was considered and rejected because it has typically been a single question and too few points involved.
Oh, and Lyrically Speaking is off limits because LB has achieved god-like status with his annual venture and I couldn't do it justice.
If there were any more Bored games from the past I couldn't think of them. I guess 12 will have to do. Thanks!

Because Photofuckit has devolved from one of the better free image storing sites to a completely pay site. I had enough images stored there to have to pay the huge bucks to keep them available to me, so I just abandoned ship. Fortunately, most of the pics I wanted there were already uploaded to my blog... and since I was able to recover what I'd lost when my original PC blew up in 2017, I have clean versions of all my ES avatars!
