Lyrically Speaking - 1/12/21

#1 Post by littlebeast13 » Tue Jan 12, 2021 7:40 am

Time for another Tuesday Wordplay, where you can count on one single word appearing in each and every song title! No other game can make that kind of guarantee...

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist...

1. The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire

2. Tell me now, baby
Is he good to you
And can he do to you
The things that I do

3. I look in your eyes and I can see
We've loved so dangerously
You're not trusting
Your heart to anyone

4. He`ll taste the aftertaste
When you come home
Late some night

5. Play the game, you know you can't quit until it's won
Soldier on, only you can do what must be done

6. She had a dream and boy, it was a good one
So she chased after her dream with much desire
But when she got too close to her expectations

7. We were digging and
Shifting from five to five
Selling everything we found
Just to stay alive

8. Roy Cohn, Juan Peron
Toscanini, Dancron
Dien Bien Phu Falls
Rock Around the Clock

9. Here comes old Rosie
She's looking mighty fine
Here comes hot Nancy
She's stepping right on time

10. I walked out this morning
And I wrote down this song
I just can't remember who to send it to

11. 'Cause there's a side to you that I never knew, never knew
All the things you'd say, they were never true, never true
And the games you'd play, you would always win, always win

12. I laughed at love
Cause I thought it was funny
You came along
And moved me, honey

Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist that contains the magic word of the day in the title.

Image Bonus: If you know the word, show me a fitting image!

3. I look in your eyes and I can see
We've loved so dangerously

What's the hurry?

Where's the fire?

1. The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire

Light My Fire, Bruce Springsteen

2. Tell me now, baby
Is he good to you
And can he do to you
The things that I do

3. I look in your eyes and I can see
We've loved so dangerously
You're not trusting
Your heart to anyone

4. He`ll taste the aftertaste
When you come home
Late some night

5. Play the game, you know you can't quit until it's won
Soldier on, only you can do what must be done

6. She had a dream and boy, it was a good one
So she chased after her dream with much desire
But when she got too close to her expectations

7. We were digging and
Shifting from five to five
Selling everything we found
Just to stay alive

8. Roy Cohn, Juan Peron
Toscanini, Dancron
Dien Bien Phu Falls
Rock Around the Clock

We Didn't Start the Fire, Billy Joel

9. Here comes old Rosie
She's looking mighty fine
Here comes hot Nancy
She's stepping right on time

10. I walked out this morning
And I wrote down this song
I just can't remember who to send it to

Fire and Rain, James Taylor

Smoke from a Different Fire, Sanford Townsend

Image Bonus: If you know the word, show me a fitting image!

I added Bob's base score to the tally (though no JJC points, and there would have been at least one). At this point, I need all the players I can get!

You're dreamin again. Nobody went out of her/his way to save any mangy rodents, pandas, koalas, or any other marsupials or ursidae. However, they bragged for months about how no structures were lost . . .
