Here's the thing

#1 Post by mrkelley23 » Mon Jan 11, 2021 6:56 pm

I tested positive for Covid today. Been having mild symptoms since Friday. I decided to share my status on EFB, just because I'm allergic to hiding my health status. My parents were so secretive that it's probably an over-reaction, but I don't care. I don't want my kids feeling betrayed when they find out I was hiding something from them.

Anyway...

Six of the first ten comments were statements of love and support from Bored members. I have 1084 "friends" on Facebook, mostly former students. Of those 6, 3 were from people who would be characterized as at least conservative, if not ultra-so.

It's nice to get a reminder why I still hang out here, even if I can only stand to read about half the messages.

Thanks, everyone.

p.s. my symptoms are very mild. I'm taking zinc and a multivitamin (but not OD level), sleep on my stomach, get up and walk every couple of hours I'm awake, and I'm forcing fluids. I also have a pulse-ox, and I'm taking my temperature about every 2-3 hours. I'm not claiming any of this stuff helps, but it can't hurt, and if there's the remotest chance it helps, I'm taking it.

Yikes. I'm glad to know that your case seems to be mild. Keep an eye on that pulse ox: I understand that because you retain the ability to expel carbon dioxide, your body won't necessarily alert you that your pulse ox is low. --Bob

Just hoping that you stay with one of the mild cases. Hang in there.

I hope your case is as mild as mine was. Keep doing what you're doing and especially keep a close eye on the pulse-ox.

Take care, Mike! I hope the symptoms remain mild for you.

(I clicked on the "Care" emoji for you on EFB, but I neglected adding any other comment. What can I say? I've still been doom scrolling too much for my own good, but I've been too emotionally drained these past few days to do much of anything else.)
