He had a couple of Top 30 hits in the 50's, but he had 2 other big hits besides "I Can See Clearly Now"---1968's "Hold Me Tight"(reached #5) and the followup to "Clearly", from 1973, "Stir It Up", a cover of a Bob Marley song (peaked at #12)---both of which I liked much better than his biggest hit.

I used to watch that!

I even remember a fair bit of the lyrics.

Never knew that was Johnny Nash.

I've golfed with Johnny Nash

also in our foursome was his girlfriend Lorraine

and a beautiful young lady named Claire Lee

I could tell ol' Johnny was struck by Claire

scoped her out every chance he got

Lorraine got mad and stood between them, blocking his view until #13

that's when Johnny pushed her over the foot bridge into the water

alas Johnny Nash sang those immortal words:

"I can see Claire Lee now, Lorraine is gone!"
Golf rocks.

PAT!!!!!!!!!!

What a blast from the past!

I've missed ya, buddy!

Now I'm gonna leave before I start singing "The Way We Were" with tears in my eyes........
