T-Bone the Crooner

#1 Post by T_Bone0806 » Thu Aug 20, 2020 10:00 am

Just to show you that deep down I'm just a sentimental softee..

I posted this on Facebook as a little love note to my wife. Thought I'd torture...errr, I mean, share it here for those of you who are NOT Facebookers. Happy 26th Anniversary, Nancy!

I made this recording on my karaoke machine some 25-30 years ago..

Dang, T-Bone. That's awesome!

I'm very impressed.

Did you dub in the background and harmony, too?

And I'll second bbk's happy anniversary wishes.

When I first saw this I thought it said "coroner", a totally different thing!

Nope..they were already on the karaoke track. I HAVE done all the background vocals on other tunes I did when they were not on the track, but in this case, no. However, I did double track my lead vocal to give it more depth and mask notes that may not be 100% on the money. A common trick, The Beatles did it all the time...with MUCH better results, of course...

Nice!

PS I am sending you a book: Anatomy of a Song: The oral history of 45 hits that changed rock, R&B and pop

It was a little technical in places for me, which should mean you will know exactly what is going on!

I'm sure there's a recording of our favorite singer, T-Bone, singing everyone's favorite song:

Billy, Don't Be a Hero

Let's make it happen!

What would be the point? It's impossible to improve upon the perfection of your version, Bo.

I liked it a lot, and you will know way more about the people they interviewed.
