Actress best known for the title role in Lolita, filmed when she was only 14. She only had a handful of significant roles after that and retired completely from acting when she was still in her mid-30s. Her career might have been different if she had landed the role of Bonnie Parker in Bonnie and Clyde, but Warren Beatty chose Faye Dunaway instead.
Age 73. It appears that she died on her birthday.

The age surprised me. I thought she was 18 playing a 13 year old. Turns out she was 14 playing a 15 year old. Actually in the book she's 12, but the producers had to change it because of motion picture standards. I thought she did a very good job with the role.
I can't recall a creepier character anywhere than Humbert. Just thinking about him makes me cringe, and it's been 40 years since I read the book and about 15 since I saw part of the movie.

Is it just me, or every year does it seems like a ton of "famous" (for lack of a better word) drop off between Christmas and New Year's? Like many more percentage wise than at other times of the year?
Maybe the Universe just likes screwing with awards shows and the like that do year end retrospectives and in memoriam programs...

It seems that way to me.
