The Baltimore Orioles have lost 88 games so they cannot win more than 74 games. The Yankees have won 83 games so Baltimore cannot win the American League Eastern Division. Tampa Bay has won 76 games so the Orioles will finish behind at least one non-division winner in the American League Eastern Division. Minnesota has won 77 games and Cleveland has won 75 games, so Baltimore also will finish behind at least one non-division winner in the American League Central Division.

Detroit has lost 88 games so the Tigers cannot win more than 74 games this season. Minnesota and Cleveland have each won at least 76 games so Detroit cannot finish better than third in the American League Central Division. The Yankees and Tampa Bay have both won at least 76 games so the Tigers also will finish behind at least one non-division winner in the American League Eastern Division.

This is one set of Tigers with nothing gr-r-r-r-eat about them. Detroit has been toastified. --Bob

Kansas City has lost 87 games so the Royals cannot win more than 75 games. Minnesota has won 79 games so Kansas City cannot win the American League Central Division. The Indians have won 77 games so the Royals cannot finish better than third in the American League Central Division. Both the Yankees and the Rays have won at least 76 games so Kansas City also will finish behind at least one non-division winner in the American League Eastern Division.

Tampa Bay has won 81 games so the Blue Jays cannot finish better than third in the division. Minnesota and Cleveland each have won at least 80 games so Toronto will finish behind at least one non-division winner in the American League Central Division.

Miami has lost 88 games so the Marlins cannot win more than 74 games. Atlanta has won 86 games so Miami cannot win the National League Eastern Division. The Nationals have won 78 games so the Marlins cannot finish better than third in the National League Eastern Division. St. Louis has won 78 games, so Miami will finish behind at least one team in the National League Central Division. The Cubs have won 74 games and Milwaukee has won 71 games,. Chicago and the Brewers have 4 games remaining against each other so at least one of those two teams will finish with at least 75 wins and the Marlins will finish behind a second team in the National League Central Division.

Florida may not have sunk beneath the waves yet, but Miami's season has. The Marlins have been toastified. --Bob

New York and Tampa Bay each have won at least 82 games so Seattle will finish behind at least one non-division winner in the American League Eastern Division. The Twins and the Indians each have won at least 81 games so the Mariners will finish behind at least one non-division winner in the American League Central Division.

The Yankees and the Rays each have won at least 86 games so the White Sox also will finish behind at least one non-division winner in the American League Eastern Division.

Oakland has won 85 games so Los Angeles of Anaheim cannot finish better than third in the division. The Braves and the Nationals each have won at least 80 games so the Rockies will finish behind at least one non-division winner in the National League Eastern Division. St. Louis, the Cubs, and Milwaukee all have won at least 78 games so Colorado will finish behind at least two non-division winners in the National League Central Division.
