In consultation with Mrs. Spock, we guesstimated our 2010 route through parts of Indiana and Illinois. This will give me a few more in each state.
I tend to take a lot of back roads, so guesstimating will be necessary for non-Interstate routes.

Darn project got addicting. I have finished 2 more-Kentucky and Ohio. They were not nice to my percentages.
24 out of 88 in Ohio and 29 out of 120 in Kentucky.
The other Ohio River states ended up with 42 out of 102 in Illinois and 33 out of 92 in Indiana.
With the addition of Minnesota and Delaware I have 217 total.
Next up: Wisconsin and Michigan

On the other hand, if you want to go somewhere there's a lot of counties, come here to Georgia. We have 159 counties, second only to Texas (Florida, which is almost the same size and has double the population, has 67). Georgia's going to be hard to map because of the small counties-hard to see them. Georgia with its small counties should give me a decent raw number-even if my percentage is lower.
I figured out that putting the county into Google Maps helps a lot as you can see if a particular highway runs through them, or even catches the corner.

Virginia-4 out of 95-Arlington County and then 3 others out west.
Virginia also has a mess of independent cities that they consider the equivalent of counties-but I am only going to include counties.
Total now is 265.
A trip to visit historic sites in Virginia (via a zig-zag route through KY,IL, and IN may be in order-LOL). The Spocklette made it to Mount Vernon this year, but she didn't buy me any books there. You think she would have learned by now.
Mrs S has now become reconciled to the fact that a large part of our future US travels will be going after counties.

Wisconsin-29 out of 72.
294 total.
Spent a lot of driving time in Wisconsin-but it is usually to and from Chicago and points east-so have followed the same route many times from the Twin Cities to Illinois. From that point, various options open up.
Large cluster of counties in east-central Wisconsin that I have not been to.

Not surprised that 11 of the least visited were in North Dakota. They just aren't on the way to anywhere.
I think I have 6 of the 11. I have all 3 of the Montana counties on the least visited list.
I haven't checked the 4 South Dakota counties on the list yet.
I am kind of surprised that some small West Texas county didn't make it to the 20 least visited. Altho, I suspect that it is a thing to visit all Texas counties (more so than for other states.)
