I had never heard of this song.
4. Charlie RICH (Poor) + 65. JENNY = Poor Jenny, by 93. The Everly Brothers
I wondered how 8675309 was going to work in here.

I always assumed twilight referred to either dawn or dusk (though I know it's most often used for after sunset). I know the word crepuscular (Which I know because... squirrels) specifically refers to animals who are most active at twilight, and that covers both times of the day when the sun is just below the horizon.
That said, mrk gets big props for figuring out how to use Wooly Bully in the game (And creating a song I was looking for being one of the only Jets fans in the world). I had no clue how that was going to be used in any of the three capacities...

Corrected consolidation…
Identify the 100 songs below. Then, match them into 40 trios according to a Tangredi, or principle you must discover for yourself.
• One song will be used three times, each time in a different capacity.

Re: Game #193: Rainy Day Women
I have to think the Grateful Dead is here for an opposite match, but the only Alive song I can find that works uses the other two songs in exactly the same way they've already been used in other matches...
94. The Grateful DEAD (Alive) + 77. There, I've Said It AGAIN = Alive Again by 19. Chicago
Note: I don't think that is right, but I'm throwing it out there (A match for Paul Revere & The Raiders' "Good Thing" can also be made reusing the Bad->Good opposite)

An alternative antonym is Living. Less likely are the antonyms of Grateful (Inappreciative, Thankless, Unappreciative, Ungrateful).littlebeast13 wrote:I have to think the Grateful Dead is here for an opposite match, but the only Alive song I can find that works uses the other two songs in exactly the same way they've already been used in other matches...

One match left, and it must incorporate the Foreigner song somehow.

Re: Game #193: Rainy Day Women
There were actually TWO matches that both linked to ELO, since they also did a song called I'm Alive which would have matched with I'm So Excited. So it didn't matter which one you got, ELO was still the one used three times.mrkelley23 wrote:94. The Grateful DEAD (Livin') + 66. Wild THING = Livin' Thing, by 14. Electric Light Orchestra

The last song is one of the lesser-known ones, but it did make the Top 40.

You're going to get a break: I don't have another one ready to go just yet. But when it appears, it will be a movie game.

Wait, are we still playing opposites?franktangredi wrote: I don't have another one ready to go just yet. But when it appears, it will be a movie game.
Kidding, I kid! I'm a kidder!
I've said it before and I'll say it again: the level of creativity and organization needed to create a game like this is something I've never seen before. I think Will Shortz would be jealous.
If I were you, I'd collect a bunch of these games, self-publish them, and sell them on places like Learned League. Too difficult for the mass market, I think.

I've thought about it. But, of course, I'd need to fact check everything. I'd also simplify the clues, since the hive mind makes a difference.mrkelley23 wrote:Wait, are we still playing opposites?franktangredi wrote: I don't have another one ready to go just yet. And I don't think I could include lyrics games if I was selling it. $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Many of you will be happy to know that Tangredi puzzles (variations of those posted here) are still active and popular in the geocaching world. They have a mini-cult following and folks not from the New England area (where the actual cache is placed) like to try and solve them just for the challenge.
The Tangredi brand means there will be a lot of swearing involved ("I hate those $%^^&# Tangredis!") but plenty of kudos, too.

I tried some others, first:
Flock puzzle
ElBee puzzle
BillyBored puzzle
Esto puzzle
But none of them rang true. So the geocaching world is stuck with Tangredi.
