RIP Brandon Adams

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Sun Mar 24, 2019 6:17 pm

This really hurts. Adams was a defensive lineman on the Georgia Tech football team and by all accounts a really nice guy, kind of a huggable Fat Albert type (he weighed 325 pounds). He collapsed at a nearby home Saturday night and died at the hospital. The team was scheduled to begin its first spring practice under our new head coach this week. I'm sure they'll investigate, but there's no report of drugs or alcohol being involved. He was only 21.

That's terrible.
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

Another horrible tragedy struck the Georgia Tech team over the holidays. Bryce Gowdy, a Deerfield Beach, F,L high school student who signed with Tech in the early football signing period just before Christmas, was struck by a train and killed over the weekend. Police are now calling it suicide. What makes this even sadder is that he had just graduated from high school early and was planning to enroll at Tech next week. Shortly before he died, he sent out tweets about how excited he was to be coming up to Atlanta. Only 17.

So sad. I read that Gowdy had to deal with poverty and homelessness and still excelled in school and football. 2020 is having a rough start.
