The game show community doesn't think much of the Zach Horans of the world either.... which is why I finally pulled the plug on Zach's latest comeback attempt...

I am trying to decide what the worst part of this is. It may be that he will appoint Supreme Court justices that will Make America 1958 Again. It may be that he proved you can campaign as a crass, boorish dirtbag with the maturity and vocabulary of a ten-year-old and still be elected President of the United States. (But... but... emails!)
Or it may be that a lot of working class people voted for him because they feel like they are not getting ahead and they are worried about their future. They have not realized that it is their bosses, not the government, who are screwing them over, and they have not realized that Trump does not give a rat's ass about them either.

Re: President Trump
I've heard some interviews with Trump supporters who said something that I was half convinced of myself before the election. When asked how they could vote for Trump when he said all the ugly things, the answer was, "he didn't mean them." And I'm about half convinced that's true, that Trump said and did all these things because (a) he likes to hear himself talk, and (b) he knew how it would play to his base. Of course, then they went on to say, he didn't mean what he said about Muslims and Mexicans but he's going to make America great again because he has a plan. In other words, he means what he says when it's what I want to hear. Well, guess what, see how many high paying manufacturing jobs come back to Michigan and Ohio in the next four years.elwoodblues wrote:I am trying to decide what the worst part of this is. But today we got to see a bit of Trump's master plan that the mainstream media avoided harping on, namely the large number of lawsuits that Trump is or will be defending. Guess what. As President, he in all probability will get a four-year get-out-of-jail free card on all those suits that won't be going forward and that will allow his attorneys to wait out the plaintiffs and settle the cases for a pittance. The only person Trump cares about is Trump, and the only deal making he's going to do will be if it benefits him.

That's the nice thing about life tenure. Judge Curiel should have no trouble concluding that no one is above the law and the case should proceed as scheduled. Particularly in light of Clinton v. Jones, which presented that precise issue, and resulted in the very deposition that led to President Clinton's impeachment.silverscreenselect wrote:I've heard some interviews with Trump supporters who said something that I was half convinced of myself before the election. I wonder if the House will be as quick to impeach Trump should he be found liable for fraud. Particularly if the jury finds (by clear and convincing evidence) liability for punitive damages. --Bob

We see thousands of people 'grieving' by protesting on the streets. Do you think that would happen if Hillary would have won? Again, I do not like Trump and did not vote for him. But the world will not end, just as it wouldn't have if Hillary won. Just as it didn't end with President Obama for 8 years.
The real story of this election is the complete abandonment of non biased, fact based journalism by the main stream media. They report polls as if they were fact every day, and yet the vast majority of the polls were just totally garbage. They selectively decide what is important to report on or not to report on based on their own political biases. It is shown by leaked emails from ONE person how they colluded behind the scenes with one candidate, yet they do no self examination. Imagine what we would have seen if we could see emails from other political figures and so called unbiased journalists.
The American people, I think, finally saw through the propaganda and one sided reporting. We need to start holding the media up to scrutiny and demand they report unvarnished truth, and let us decide what it means.

You do know that most of the "racist message left on dinner receipt," "racist message painted on car" and "racist message in cake decoration" incidents have turned out to be fraudulent.
Sure, these could be the work of misguided rednecks, but they could also be the work of your own party members.

I am one of the last people y'all would expect to say these things, but here they are:
I told someone to see it as how we elected a cartoon character, and that made it easier and a little bit funny …. but these past few days, I’ve been pleasantly surprised that he seems to have dropped the act, now that he’s in.
He was respectful about both Clintons’ calls to concede.
He already said the Wall is not going to happen.
He said there are things about the ACA he likes.
I don’t think he has actually bullied anyone since Monday.
Pleasantly surprised.
